Despite what their name implies, the Star Wars “Original Trilogy” DVDs are certainly not definitive releases of the original films. The official word from Lucasfilm is that the original edits of the movies are included as bonus material to the special edition versions, and as such are mere dupes of the 1993 non-anamorphic (horror!) laserdisc versions.
